Accessible Gate Announcements

Frankfurt Airport is offering a new service at certain gates that allows gate announcements to be transmitted directly to passengers' personal devices, ensuring that they can be heard clearly without any distracting background noise. This makes Frankfurt Airport the first airport in the world to send gate announcements directly to passengers' hearing aids, headphones, and smartphones.

This is particularly beneficial for travelers with hearing impairments and users of hearing aids and headphones, who often find it difficult to understand loudspeaker announcements in terminals.

The broadcast is transmitted via Auracast™ (Bluetooth LE Audio) and allows you to receive important information such as boarding announcements, gate changes, or delays directly through your own hearing aid, headphones, or compatible smartphone.

Current locations:

  • Terminal 1, Departures A, Gate A16
  • Terminal 1, Departures A, Gate A17
