Terminal 3 – a new era

  

Experience the dawn of a new era at Frankfurt Airport. On April 23, the first flight will depart from the state-of-the-art Terminal 3 in the southern part of the airport. Featuring gates G, H, and J, the innovative Terminal 3 can accommodate around 19 million passengers annually and sets new standards in comfort, service, and design.

Airline relocations – the facts


Starting in April, all airlines will gradually move from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3. Please check which terminal your flight departs from or arrives at before you travel. You can find the latest information on your flight details page, which you can access via the flight search or in the Airlines A - Z overview. Changes may be made at short notice.

Traveling to Terminal 3 – perfectly connected


Whether you are arriving by car, train, or bus the new Terminal 3 is easily accessible. Our modern SkyLine train is available for quick and convenient transfers between terminals.

The long-distance and regional train station is optimally connected to the rail network and allows direct access to Frankfurt Airport.

  

Follow the signs for “Terminal 3 G, H, J” to reach the new SkyLine station in Terminal 1 in just a few minutes.

By SkyLine

The new SkyLine operates directly between Terminals 1, 2, and 3. It is located in close proximity to the long-distance train station and Terminal 1. Please follow the signs marked “Terminal 3 G, H, J.”

  

Frequency & Travel Time

  

  • Departures approximately every 2 minutes.
  • Travel time from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3: approx. 8–10 minutes.

Terminal 3 is easily accessible via the highway network and is directly connected to the A5 motorway. Simply follow the signs for “Terminal 3.”

  

Drop-Off Zone

A drop-off zone is located directly in front of Terminal 3 for short-term passenger drop-offs and pick-ups.

  

Parking at Terminal 3

The Terminal 3 parking garage offers up to 8,500 spaces. If you do not have a prior reservation, please use entrance P11.

The bus station is located directly on the arrivals level and provides quick, barrier-free access to Terminal 3.


From April 2026, there will be connections to existing bus routes, including to Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Walldorf, and Groß-Gerau.


Long-distance bus passengers should follow the signs for “Terminal 3 G, H, J” from Terminal 1.

Check-in & Fast Bag Drop

Terminal 3 features a range of innovative technologies to make the start of your journey especially comfortable. Self check-in and Fast Bag Drop let you drop off your luggage quickly and easily – without long waits.

Online check-in


Passengers who have already checked in online and are traveling with checked baggage can conveniently print their baggage tags at the check-in kiosk or at the baggage tag machines.

Please follow the instructions on the screen. Keep your booking number and travel documents ready.

Drop off your baggage

  

Take your previously printed baggage tag to the Fast Bag Drop. Please remove any old baggage tags.

  

Follow the instructions on the screen and place your baggage on the conveyor belt as indicated.

  

Please keep your boarding pass and travel documents with you at all times. If you have excess baggage, bulky baggage, or special requests, please contact the staff at the check-in counter.

Services, Restaurants & Shops

  

Terminal 3 offers passengers a wide range of services, including service points, luggage storage, and various facilities for comfort and entertainment.

Numerous shops and dining options provide variety and enjoyment during your stay. Please note that these services are located in the secure area, and visitors without a valid boarding pass do not have access.
