Local Public Transportation

The airport has its train station for short distances.

Several urban trains stop at Frankfurt Airport which offers a convenient alternative to arriving by car.

The airport’s regional train station is served by RMV (Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund) with direct connections to Frankfurt, Hanau, Aschaffenburg, Mainz, and Wiesbaden. You can use the S-Bahn Trains S8 and S9 or the Regional Express (RE) with the numbers RE59, RE2 and RE3. It’s easy for you to get there from anywhere in the area served by RMV by transferring at any of those places.

The airport's train station for short distances is located in the ground floor of the airport, below terminal 1. From there you can reach the areas A, B, and C of the arrivals area. Once you arrived, we recommend to follow the signs towards Airport City Mall/Regionalbahnhof.

Moreover, you can reach Frankfurt Airport via it's own long-distance train station, which offers many direct connections within Germany and neighboring countries.

Barrier-free arrival by public transport

On local trains (S-Bahn, RE or RB), you will arrive at the regional train station on tracks 1 to 3.

On tracks 2 and 3, follow the blue wheelchair symbol to the elevator on to the departure level or use the escalator.

On Track 1 in section B, there is an elevator to the rail service point. This is open to the public and can be used without registering with the local staff.
