Traveling with your own wheelchair – important information
Please notify your airline of the wheelchair you are bringing with you before departure, stating the wheelchair's dimensions (height, width, and weight).
Important: If you are traveling with a battery-powered wheelchair, please find out what type of battery is used and specify this when booking your flight. Gel and dry batteries can remain in the wheelchair and do not require any special transport preparation. However, when checking in, you must secure the batteries, disconnect them, and insulate the terminals. For safety reasons, special packaging criteria apply to wheelchairs with wet batteries. Please check with your airline.
