Catholic airport chaplaincy

The Catholic airport chaplaincy has been at Frankfurt Airport for 50 years. We would like to offer people who are traveling by rail and air or work here permanently, a sense of trust. Do you need help, orientation or comfort? We at the Catholic airport chaplaincy are there for you.  

Everyone is welcome, regardless of origin, skin color, religious conviction or sexual orientation. We do not proselytise, but try to help you within the scope of our possibilities.

Contact point for refugees from the Ukraine

The airport chaplaincy in Terminal 1, Hall B, on the gallery is a central point of contact for refugees and people in need of help from Ukraine. We are happy to help you individually in your emergency situation.


Interpreters for Ukrainian and Russian are present or will be connected by telephone.


Our opening hours:

Monday: from 8 a.m. to 12 pm.

Wednesday: from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Friday:  from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

How to find us

You will find the ecumenical chapel in Terminal 1, on the gallery in Departure Hall B, room 3071.

Our office is located next to the chapel, office number 3068.
  

Devotional rooms are also available for passengers in transit areas. These are located:

The chapel and the devotional rooms are closed in the period between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Service times  

Currently the Holy Mass is celebrated 10:00 a.m. on Sundays and Solemnities.

  

Catholic mass and holy communion  

Furthermore, you also have the opportunity to attend a Catholic Mass and receive Communion with us. The services are usually celebrated in German language. In the case of larger foreign-language groups, it is possible to celebrate part of the mass in English. Feel free to speak to the priest before mass.

Services for groups

Registered groups have the opportunity to use the chapel for their own devotions and church services. We are also available to airport visitors who would like information about the airport chaplaincy. Please inform us in advance:

  • when you would like to use the chapel,
  • whether you would like to bring your own priest or would like the airport chaplain,
  • whether you need access to the sacristy and mass utensils..

Volunteer service

The volunteers of the Catholic airport chaplaincy are available to you as contact persons in addition to our full-time staff. If you would like to volunteer at the airport chaplaincy, please contact us.
