Product Counterfeiting

Counterfeit consumer goods, which are often of inferior quality, are made or sold under another brand’s name without authorization. They may infringe on trademarks, patents, or copyrights. Counterfeit products are often sold at heavily frequented holiday locations or on the Internet. This is usually a crime for which the perpetrator can be prosecuted. Travelers are advised to find out about the relevant customs rules before leaving on their trip.
