A Change of Perspective at the Airport

How About Looking Through a Leica Lens?

Leica's cameras are products of high-quality German workmanship and redefine photography.

The Leica name stands for top-quality German workmanship and maximum precision. For professional and ambitious hobby photographers alike, the brand continues to stand for the very best in state-of-the-art camera systems and lenses. Which makes it all the more exciting that the Leica Akademie based in Wetzlar, Germany has teamed up with Frankfurt Airport Online Shopping to hold workshops that let participants hone their picture-taking skills at Frankfurt Airport while using the latest Leica equipment.

A Real Experience

The first Leica Akademie workshop took place this May, also taking the participants to parts of the airport that are off limits to most people. The course began with a short class on theory in the Airport Conference Center, then continued with an airport tour that included the apron area and let the apprentice photographers get out of the bus to take pictures of the operations at three locations while wearing bright safety vests.

Want to Own Your Own Leica?

We have good news for you: if you’re inspired by the workshop to reserve a Leica product in the Frankfurt Airport Online Shop, you don’t need an airline ticket to do so. By the way: Leica products are sold in our online shop by PAX.

PAX Airport Shopping GmbH and Leica
PAX Airport Shopping is an incarnation of the tradition-steeped Frankfurt company of Foto Hofmann, which was established in 1894 and opened a shop at Frankfurt Airport when the new “Central Terminal” (now Terminal 1) was inaugurated in 1972. That also paved the way for the collaboration with Leica. Today, PAX ranks among the leading retailers authorized to sell Leica products in Europe, with no fewer than three Leica boutiques at the airport alone. All Leica products are normally kept in stock there, including special limited editions such as the Leica Limoland.
