Holiday Activities at the Airport?

Of Course!

Finally it's time: the summer holidays have started in several countries and states. For those who want to visit and explore the airport, our mascot Fluggi has gathered some valuable travel and shopping tips.

School is out for the summer – hip, hip hurrah! That means plenty of time to explore and have fun at Frankfurt Airport. Apart from watching planes take off to faraway places, you can go on an exciting airport tour or check out the fascinating souvenirs in our Airport Shop – naturally including our official mascot, Fluggi, who will now tell you more.

Bored? Come on Over!

Traveling can wear you out – and I should know, after all I’m Fluggi the airport mascot and a real airplane, believe it or not. Our Airport Shop is full of incredible stuff to make your summer vacation even more fun. Like blankets and towels in a split-flap flight information display design – ideal for chilling on the beach or on the banks of the Rhine. Did you notice the rhyme? Why don’t you try inventing your own? Or if you can’t think of anything, how about reading one of our mini books or playing the new Quartett card game. You’ll see that waiting at the airport is child’s play and the time simply flies by! And here’s my secret tip: if want more time for playing and having fun at the airport, reserve these items and more from home before starting your trip. Then all you have to do is pick them up lickety-split on the way to the check-in counter. It’s a good idea to take a look online in any case, because there’s always something new for you to discover there.

Where, what, when and how?

You can find the Airport Shop of Frankfurt Airport Shopping in Terminal 1 on the departures level of Concourse C. Even better, you don’t have to show a boarding pass to visit it. If you want to go on an airport tour, the security check for it is right next to the shop. It’s a good idea to pick up your reserved items in the shop first, though, because the tour ends somewhere else. You’re naturally allowed to take your airport souvenirs along.

Round and Round and Round You Go

Our airport tours take you all around, I can tell you that much. A hot tip is the new Premium Tour, which takes a small group of five passengers in a small bus. It’s an incredible experience! Since I’m an insider, I can tell you that all of the tours are extremely popular and sometimes sell out fast. So my advice is to go online and book your tickets in advance here. And by the way, while we’re on the subject: did you know that you can also book a birthday tour for children on a weekend? You can naturally also reserve souvenirs and small gifts for your guests beforehand in the Airport Shop at Frankfurt Airport Shopping. I’m sure you’ll have a great time!

Meet me personally!

In case you thought that airport mascots spend all of their time sitting on shop shelves and giving advice on the Internet, it isn’t true! You can also meet me personally – on the Visitors’ Terrace. I’m there every Sunday during the summer holidays. There is also face painting for kids, and you can even have your picture taken with me. You can of course also go the Visitors’ Terrace any other day of the week to watch planes landing, taking off and taxiing around. Just be spontaneous – that’s what vacation is all about, right?

All that’s left now is for me to wish you the absolutely best summer holidays you could ever dream of! Come on by, I’ll be waiting for you.

Sincerely,
Fluggi
