In the south of Frankfurt Airport, Europe’s most progressive terminal is emerging on about 90,000 square meters, about the same size as 13 soccer fields clustered together.
The new terminal will boast a stunningly attractive three-level architecture that meets and exceeds international standards in every respect. Within it, passengers will be able to head straight to wherever they want or need to go.
A new passenger transportation system will supplement the existing SkyLine people mover. It will take only about eight minutes to get from Terminal 1 via Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 or vice versa.
The new terminal’s excellent connection to the road network will allow passengers to very conveniently stop at the curbside in front of the check-in hall in a taxi or private car or else leave their vehicle in a parking structure directly opposite.
There will be over 100 check-in and bag drop-off counters to make sure that passengers begin their trip smoothly and without hassles.
A futuristically designed marketplace covering around 6000 square meters and filled with shops and food & beverage outlets in the middle of the terminal building will entice passengers to enjoyably spend the time until boarding.
A number of restaurants serving a variety of cuisines will let you relax and enjoy a view of the apron while eating or drinking, so you can start your trip refreshed. We’ll take care of the rest!
All passenger areas will be fully accessible, also by electric service vehicles. Moving walkways that can also be used with luggage carts help you move between levels.
The new terminal will be equipped with up to 10 baggage carousels so you won’t have to wait long for your bags to appear.
Filled with restaurants, bistros, shops and an information counter, the arrivals hall on the ground floor will be the perfect place to catch your breath before continuing your journey.
