The excavated area is exactly where Terminal 3 is now being built. The digging work was successfully finished in May 2016. Our film shows details.
How many excavators and dump trucks does it take to dig a pit with an area of 65,000 square meters? To put this in perspective, that’s about the size of nine soccer fields. Several of each vehicle type worked concurrently to remove an average of around 5500 cubic meters a day (close to the volume of three Olympic swimming pools). And they kept up this mind-boggling pace for half a year. Find out more exciting facts on this first phase of the construction project here.
