Boarding Pass

A boarding pass authorizes a passenger to board a booked and provided flight, similarly to tickets in local and long-distance public ground transportation. Boarding passes are usually issued by the airline during the check-in procedure. It may also be possible for passengers to print them out at self-service check-in kiosks in the terminal or download and print them out at home, if the airline offers one or both of these options.
