Now blockbusters can be watched at Frankfurt Airport before taking off: a colorful selection of full-length movies, fascinating documentaries and popular series is available for travellers to enjoy in two “Movie Worlds” in Piers A and Z in Terminal 1. This free new service provides yet another way for them to pass the time pleasurably before boarding their flights.
Even better, the Movie Worlds evoke the relaxed ambiance of a living room at the airport. Comfortable couches for up to three persons are arranged in front of TV screens, just like at home. They are placed in niches for added privacy. Plus, the floor is covered with carpeting: although this is an unusual sight at an airport, it results in a cozier, more intimate atmosphere.
The Movie Worlds have something for every taste. The movies and so on can be watched in various languages and, like on board aircraft, are all suitable for the whole family. Passengers can decide whether they prefer to listen to the soundtrack using their own headphones or a speaker. The films can be started at any time, in other words they aren’t shown according to a fixed schedule. The two Movie World areas in Terminal 1 can accommodate 22 persons in eight separate TV niches.
Second Gaming World Opened: Alleviate Jet Lag by Playing
Those who would rather spend their time at Frankfurt Airport playing the latest computer games will be happy to learn that a second Gaming World has just been inaugurated. Besides controller-based games like FIFA, NBA and various racing games, it features an interactive screen with a gesture-controlled game that can be played free of charge. Scientists have shown that playing video games helps overcome jet lag, and this one has the extra benefit of reactivating tired limbs after hours of sitting still in the plane. There are games for all age groups to choose from, and passengers can play together, against one another or by themselves, just as they please.
The airport’s operator, Fraport, uses the slogan “Gute Reise! We make it happen” to express its commitment to serving passengers and meeting their individual needs and wishes. It regularly introduces new services and facilities to keep improving the customer experience at Germany’s largest transportation hub.
Passengers and visitors can find more information on the many services offered at Frankfurt Airport on the airport website, in the Service Shop, and on its Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube channels.
