The CargoCity Frankfurt is on course for growth. The biggest European hub for global cargo logistics will be expanded in the coming years.
When the first sod for the construction of the CargoCity South was placed in 1995, this was done with the goal of all companies involved in the air cargo supply chain to focus at one location.
Today the Cargo City South is an internationally recognized location and is known worldwide as an example of the development of a successful logistics hub.
On 98 hectares the” Who is Who” of the logistics industry is established. Over 200 companies and government agencies are based here and provide for more than 9,000 people at this workplace.
Agents, cargo airlines, cargo handlers and other service providers benefit from the central location in the heart of Europe, of sufficient space, short distances and an unbeatable intermodal connectivity. From FRA -Frankfurt International Airport one can reach not only almost 400 destinations around the world, but is also close to Europe's leading motorway node “Frankfurter Kreuz” and thus optimally connected.
And the growth continues. The space required for the handling of additional air freight infrastructure is being built on approximately 27 ha in CargoCity South. So here will rise a total cargo warehouse space with 100,000 square meters, as well as additional office buildings and parking facilities.
