Take Off into the World of Flight!
A Must-Do for All Aviation Fans on June 24 and 25
Frankfurt Airport will open its doors on June 24 and 25 for the “Aviation Days”, an event that no one will want to miss. Between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on both days, visitors can experience aviation close enough to touch on total space of over 80,000 square meters.
Numerous attractions and a colorful program of activities promise a day full of exciting experiences!
The main themes of the event are:
- Employment prospects in aviation
- Improvements to mitigate the environmental impact of aviation (e.g. by reducing pollution and aircraft noise)
- Alternative vehicle and drive technologies (e-mobility and fuel cells)
- Alternative navigation technologies (standalone GPS approaches)
A unique exhibition of more than 30 aircraft will contrast history and the modern age in an unprecedented way.
From vintage aircraft like the Douglas DC-6B of the Flying Bulls all the way to modern or a fuel-cell-driven aircraft that points the way for the future, there is plenty for you to marvel at from up close.
There will also be a giant tent with a large number of exhibitors including:
- DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung (German Air Traffic Control) with a tower simulator
- German Customs and the German Federal Police with two squadrons of trained dogs
Fraport AG,with the airport fire department and the Visitor Service; information will also be provided about Terminal 3, the airport’s fleet of electric vehicles, innovative uses for drones and much more.
All of the exhibiting companies and agencies will provide fascinating glimpses of their multifaceted activities and provide information and advice on jobs and training opportunities.
There will also be an attractive entertainment program with lots of live music, colorful shows and interesting technical discussions. A large selection of food and beverages will keep everyone’s strength up.
There is no charge for admission, and more than 4,000 parking spaces right at the event area can also be used free.
To simplify the process at the entrance, we kinkly ask our guests to visit the event without big purses or backpacks!
The site is easy to reach by car: simply exit the A5 motorway at Zeppelinheim south of the Frankfurt Interchange (Frankfurter Kreuz) and head toward CargoCity South, then follow the signs. If you will be riding public transportation to the airport, you can take advantage of a free shuttle service that will leave at regular intervals from bus parking lot P36 just a short walk from Terminal 1. You can also combine a visit to the event with a special “Aviation Days Tour” (in German language only). More information is available under “Other Topics”.
We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone who’s interested in aviation!
