Route 66: from Chicago to Hollywood

Route 66: from Chicago to Hollywood

"Go west!" at Frankfurt Airport on October 9, 2016.

On October 9, 2016 the "Route 66" was located at Frankfurt Airport

World-class impersonations of Michael Jackson, Tina Turner and Tom Jones thrilled the audience, bringing a bit of classic show business to Frankfurt Airport with powerful voices and performances that imitated the original artists astonishingly well.

The Big Band Swing Company and The Hound Dogs enlivened the ambience with their sounds, while Tanzschule Monika Bauer got everyone hopping with a vintage dance show.

Guests also enjoyed the view of the airfield action from the modernized Visitors’ Terrace while sipping real American Budweiser beer and munching popcorn. Part of the time they were even blessed with bright sunshine.

Multimedia presentations on Route 66 by the Fernweh-Winter travel agency took visitors on a virtual trip across the U.S., and Doreen Kröber and Andreas told exciting tales of how they began their record-setting flight around the globe on the famous highway. Their ultralight trike could be admired from the Visitors’ Terrace.

A staple highlight at every AirXperience Day at Frankfurt Airport is a rally in which participants can win attractive flights and other prizes―and this was no exception.

There was also plenty of fun for kids in the form of arts & crafts and face painting, among other activities.
