CargoCity User Committee Ensures Closer Dialogue on Current Developments

To intensify cooperation at FRA and get companies at the CargoCity sites more involved in upcoming projects right from the start, Fraport has formed a new User Committee. Annual meetings will bring all stakeholders together to inform about the latest developments.

On July 20, the first meeting of the newly launched CargoCity User Committee was held at Frankfurt Airport. This new forum will meet annually with the goal of promoting exchange and close dialogue between all users of Frankfurt Airport’s CargoCity North and South.

Dirk Schusdziara, SVP Cargo at Fraport AG, said: “In order to further enhance Frankfurt Airport’s attractiveness as a cargo hub, it is of vital importance that we involve all of the companies based here and provide them with extensive information. Only that way, we can meet the needs and wishes of our customers and partners”.

The CargoCity User Committee is composed of leaseholders, their tenants and service providers, airlines, cargo handling agents, as well as forwarding agents and logistics providers operating from Frankfurt Airport. In its first meeting, the new committee discussed issues related to the construction of the future Terminal 3, including the new road access to CargoCity South.

The group also agreed to establish a working group called “CargoCity Management to Promote the Real Estate Location”. The group held its first meeting on October 19, discussing both the market development of the real estate areas and the parking situation. Another meeting is scheduled for mid-November, this time on the IT infrastructure.
