Additional Customs Machine Installed on Truck Parking Lot

Additional Customs Machine

Kewill software customers at CargoCity South are able to benefit from an additional terminal to handle their export declarations.

Thus, customs clearance can now take place around the clock also at the truck parking lot at Gate 31.

After entering CargoCity South, truck drivers can navigate straight to the parking lot, which opened in April 2015, and perform clearance there. “Truck drivers can perform the scanning process that is necessary for clearance and spend the waiting time required for the duration of the check by customs officials on site,” explains Andreas Heil, Vice President of Customs and Compliance Solutions at Kewill. At the same time, users can check the machine anytime to see whether clearance has already taken place.

This means transportation companies no longer have to look for a parking space near one of the other terminals, saving time and reducing the hassle of the process. The new terminal also benefits the entire CargoCity by reducing traffic and preventing traffic jams.
