Fraport’s Ground Services are expanding the fleet of temperature-controlled units. The ground handler now has 16 vehicles to ensure the temperature-controlled transport of particularly sensitive products, such as pharmaceutical products, paintings and animals.

The units feature a complete standard ULD and can achieve temperatures ranging anywhere between minus 30 and plus 30 degrees Celsius. The temperature is digitally controlled and subject to constant monitoring. Should the temperature deviate from the desired setting, the driver, the control center and fleet management are informed immediately by text message.

This offer enables Fraport’s Ground Services to respond to the needs of customers as these products are more and more subject to strict regulations and an unbroken cool chain has to be guaranteed. The vehicles meet the standards for pharmaceutical products as well as the requirements for transporting animals in accordance with the regulation on animal welfare during transport.
