The Traveller aids is available if you experience social hardship, need orientation, have passport or visa problems or must return to your home country irrespective of your religion or ethnicity.
Reasons why travelers may want to contact the Church Social Services include:
- Ticket, passport or visa problems
- Financial emergency as a result of theft, purchase of a new ticket or rebooking fees
- People are overwhelmed, feel lost or need support due to an unexpected situation.
Church Social Services provide…
First of all, KSfP clarifies the situation and points out opportunities for help.
In the safe space of the Social Services office, people are able to calm down, tell their story and gather their thoughts. The ethos is to help people help themselves, and client consent is essential. The support provided is geared towards individual needs. For instance, relatives may be telephoned so that they can transfer money or a purchase a new ticket
KSfP negotiates with airlines, government agencies and consulates. The aim is to ensure that the people concerned can continue their journey or get home. If this is not possible, accommodation can be arranged.
Clients receive information on ways of gaining authorization for money or a ticket, the available travel options, and the officials, consulates and institutions they can turn to.
If necessary, the clients receive food and drink or clothing.

The team's work is aided by volunteers, most of whom are deployed at the Travelers Aid counter 700.1 in Terminal 1.
