Gateway Gardens
The new district of Gateway Gardens is taking shape on a total of 35 hectares in plain view of Frankfurt Airport's Terminal 2. Featuring modern architecture and plenty of soothing greenery, it opens up diverse possibilities in a high-quality urban atmosphere.
By 2020, it will include:
- Space for offices and services
- Hotels
- Space for conferences, trade shows and exhibitions
- Recreational facilities
- Restaurants, bars and shops
- Educational and Research Institutions
The goal is to forge a lively environment that will provide fresh stimulus to the region and achieve international importance.
Management
Gateway Gardens is backed by cooperation and commitment. Three private companies (Fraport AG, Groß & Partner Grundstücksentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, OFB Projektentwicklungs GmbH) are jointly involved in the project in cooperation with the City of Frankfurt.

Accessibility
- Adjacent to Frankfurt Airport
- In the immediate vicinity of the long-distance ICE train station at the airport

- On-site metropolitan train (S-Bahn) station ("Gateway Gardens", to be served by lines S8 and S9) with connections to other local public transportation. The tentative plans call for the station to be built starting in 2013/2014 and operate from 2018.

Projects in Planning or Implementation Stage
- Sale of area MK 1 (Alpha Quarter) to Gross & Partner and OFB Projektentwicklung
- The new Group headquarters of Condor is being built in the “Mondo Quartier”. The building will have seven floors and a total of 10,400 m². The flight operations center and a training center with flight simulator unit will be located inside. In addition to the space for Condor, an additional 3,000 m² of space can be leased in small units. Construction work is scheduled for completion in spring 2012.
- The Meininger Hotel Group has decided to move into the new Frankfurt city district next to the airport. Bauwens Development GmbH & Co. KG is building an eight floor hotel building with 4,720 m² gross floor space on construction site MK 14 in the northwest area of the new city district. The hotel will offer 168 rooms, a conference center and lounge area. Construction work has already started and the hotel is scheduled to open at the end of 2011.
- The foundation initiative, Frankfurt HOLM e.V., which has moved into its offices in Jean-Gardner-Batten-Straße inside Gateway Gardens, has been authorized to establish the requirements for the construction of the House of Logistics & Mobility (HOLM) in Frankfurt’s new city district. Construction of the House of Logistics & Mobility is scheduled to start in 2011 and opening in 2013.
- A new head office is being built for the facility management company, Imtech Deutschland, on 4,300 m² next to Amelia-Mary-Earhart-Straße. The seven floor building will offer over 15,000 m² of rental space and, consequently, have sufficient room for approximately 500 jobs. The construction work for this building is scheduled to be completed in January 2012.
