Plant Protection

The phytosanitary service of the state of Hesse operates 365 days a year from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.:

  • Phytosanitary border checks (inspection for import and export)
  • Issue of phytosanitary transport documents in compliance with RL 2004/103/EC
  • Monitoring of imports of harmful organisms, plants, plant products and other materials and objects for research, breeding and testing purposes in compliance with RL 95/44/EC
  • Support for imports and exports of pesticides
  • Checking of packaging materials made of wood of certain origins
  • Monitoring of plants and plant products for pests and diseases
  • Issue of health certificates for plants and plant products for export
  • Issue of re-export documents
  • Issue of plant passes for importing goods into the European Union
